Leader Desslok Desler Yamatoby ~TeenTitans4Evr

Traditional Art / Sculpture / Models

Leader Desslok of Gammalon from Star Blazers -aka- Desler Soto from Space Battleship Yamato. One of my alltime favorite anime characters. he started out a villian and ended up a friend & ally of the Star Force. This custom I made started out as a 12" Gen. Robert E.Lee doll. I hand sewn the cape and made the belt, buttons, & Luger gun. The head was some soccer player I found in ToysRus but the hair & European looking face matched the smug Desslok sneer perfectly.

This is an oldie I made back in the early 90's and since then they did make an 11" vinyl Desslok figure, but this one looks more like the original than what the Japanese toy Co, produced.

Yeah, I do...did you ever see the live action Yamato movie? And testerday, i was looking at a copy of the Movie,"Battle Beyond the Stars"? The guy who played the mutant space tyrant, would've made a GREAT leader D! John Saxon...that was the guy...

I thought the most live-action movie Desslok was the bad guy from "War in Space" since he wore roman gear. Eddie Albert who played Desslok told me he based to voice on Malcolm McDowell's Caligula!

Really? Well, you can't get more decadent than Malcolm Mc Dowell! Except for the John Hurt version from I, Claudius,,, I'll grant the Roman looking tyrant in War in Space looked like Desslok, but he had no crew, so no flunkies to play off. Not sure about him. Did you see the 201o Yamato movie?

Yes, have it here. It was cool seeing Yamato as live action but I did not like that the Gammalons were like the insects in Starship Troopers. The last Yamato Resurrection anime was good too. I hear they are working on a new anime series in Japan - fingers crossed!
